Resolving Underlying Dental Problems

Mother Nature and Father Time are not always kind to all of us, particularly when it comes to our teeth.

Our 50+ attractive patient sought treatment at different dental offices over the last 20 years. She was concerned about the lack of proper dental care that she was receiving. Our examination revealed several problems, including gum disease, cavities, infected teeth, bite problems, and unstable jaw positions.

After clearing up her basic dental needs our patient requested a simple makeover in order to improve her smile and appearance. A simple orthodontic appliance was used for 4 months in order to improve the stability of her bite and decrease the shifting of her front teeth. Stabilizing the occlusion (bite) is often an overlooked treatment necessity. Unstable jaw positions caused by drifting or shifting of the teeth can place unnecessary stress on any dental work performed, especially porcelain veneers. This can cause such dental work to fracture or break.

In order to prevent failure of porcelain work it is necessary to pay careful attention to the patient’s bite and jaw position! Davinci veneers were fabricated for her front 4 teeth in order to reshape her smile, lip contours, and muscle function. Notice the total overall improvement in her appearance and facial expression.
